ABOUT LEDC Lincolnland Economic Development is engaged in planning, marketing and developing the economy. It joins forces with leaders from Southwest Indiana, Owensboro and the Indiana Department of Commerce. With its $55 million Natcher Bridge project across the Ohio River, the new $130 million U.S. Highway 231 expansion and the $1.1 billion AK Steel plant, Spencer County, Indiana is one of the world's most exciting places, and LEDC is proud to play a part. LEDC assisted county government in implementing the Redevelopment Commission, Leadership Spencer County, the County's Economic Development Commissions, the Port Authority, the Tourism Commission, the Community Foundation and the overall preparation for economic growth throughout the county. LEDC helped to form and fund the Southwest Indiana Development Council to promote the region. LEDC works alongside local visionaries and officials from Owensboro, Huntingburg and Jasper to expedite the new Ohio River Bridge and improvements to U.S. Highway 231. LEDC hosts industrial prospects and encourages local chambers of commerce. It serves as staff for the Lincolnland Manufacturers Council.
